Hey,

So, I know I’m going to get slammed for asking this, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, I’d be very grateful. I’m on day 3 of looking on here & GitHub for answers or avenues, and the closest I’ve maybe come is the metadata.xml – but I’m not convinced this ‘is’ the answer, and if I try removing the .xml, I will lose custom charts etc. (I think?).

The ‘issue’ is simple:

I have races labelled as RACE (and then other text) within Activities > Details > Notes (in the screenshot example, also in Activities > Details > Workout > Workout Code = RACE, Sport = RACE & Keyword = RACE . . . in an attempt to make the search work!). When I search “RACE” in the search bar, zero activities are found.

In a different athlete profile, the search works. However, in the athlete profile with a functioining search, all files were manually uploaded from the head-unit, whereas in the athletes where the search doesn’t return any results, these activities were imported using the “Web page” chart linked to TrainingPeaks.

Again, I’m REALLY sorry if I’ve missed something – I promise I’ve tried to find answers, but before I potentially shoot myself in the foot and still don’t have a solution (i.e. removing the metadata.xml), I thought I’d ask here, just in case what I present is an anomaly or some kind sole would help me out?

Here’s hoping,

Len

You can try as search operator BEGINSWITH or CONTAINS. e.g. Sport BEGINSWITH "Race"

Hope it works for you.

Hwa Runner,

Thank you for your suggestions and helpful links.

The Filter option indeed works! Thank you.

It’s case sensitive, but that’s work-around-able.

I’d be really interested to learn of any suggestions as to how to ‘fix’ the non-functioning search though – it’s such a useful aspect of the software, and I can’t figure out why it doesn’t work anymore. . . puzzling; is there a config file I could remove for ‘a test athlete’ to check if that does the trick?

Regards

Len
