Last night while riding on the trainer I fat-fingered my garmin 500 and accidentally stopped the timer when I meant to hit the lap button (lap buttons should be gigantic on the face of the unit so you don't have to aim for a button, but that's a conversation for a different forum).  I immediately re-started the timer so I only lost recording a few seconds.  But, when I upload (or download) from the device I'm going to end up with two distinct files rather than one.

Does GC (v3.0 dev build) currently offer a way to combine these two?  If so, can it then spit out a new FIT file for further integration with other tools, e.g., strava, garmin connect, training peaks, etc.?

No official way that I know if, but you can go to the editor and copy data form one ride then go into the other and past it in.  Save it and you now have 1 ride with all of your data.

Copy all the rows of the ride you want to append in the editor, then select the ride you want to append it to, then right click for paste special and select append. It will adjust the timestamps for you.

Actually, pasting data is more powerful than most folks realise, since you can map columns from a csv file. Maybe I should do a video on that.

If you only stopped the timer (and didn't do a reset by holding the lap button for a few seconds) then won't it still be a single ride file?
