I noticed Alternative Power in the training view of the latest V3 dev
build.
Does that mean that it is possible to view and graph two power meters
at the same time.

Would like to use such a function to compare Srm and powertap.
Graphically.

Otherwise does anyone know a way to overlay and compare data taken
from an Srm with a garmin 500 and Powertap with a saris head unit.

Yes that is what it does, you will almost certainly need to manually edit the profile when adding a device so for example if the antids for the two power devices are 12345 and 98765 you will need to have "12345p, 98765p" in the profile along with cadence and whatever else.

It records a combined value in the workout file though, that is because we do not support multiple power data series.

It was coded up to support the biobike which has two track SRM cranks on it.

Got the second power in. I hadn't seen the device wizard before.
It is reading but reads far too high.
How does GC deal with zero and slope of an Srm?
Can I check it any where?

When you say far too high, is it like that when you have a single device?

We add power and alt power when saving to disk, since they are expected to be left and right power.

I was the displayed Alt power in Train view which was high.

Will do some more tests and post results.

The speed reading was also very high but I haven't investigated that
yet.
Might be connected somehow.

How does GC deal with the zero setting of a powertap and zero and
slope of an SRM.

Is there any calibrate sequence you need to go through?

Thanks

We need to add calibration support -- especially for SRM where we do not pick up the zero offset because of this.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but is there any calibration or zero'ing support in train mode at this point?  I can't seem to find it.  I use a garmin vector.  Is my best bet to do the static calibration using trainerroad or my bike computer?

Thanks,
Will

Rock on.  Also, I meant to lead in with "Thank you so much for this awesome software!"

Hi Mark

Was this still a go for 3.1? I've stuffed up a calibration on my SRM and have an incorrect slope for some spectacularly huge power profiling. I've been doing a weights program, and having difficulty determining what is a real increase and what is power meter error :x

Its pushed into 3.11 which will start once 3.1 is out -- 3.11 is predominantly all the trainer stuff deferred from 3.1 so we could release.

I went searching and found this old issue which is a pain point for me

It looks like it has slipped out to the 4.0 release?

Yeah. Rather embarassing.
I have an SRM PM and the slope and offset are always wrong :(

I'll try and sort it early so its in dev releases in the Fall in the northern hemisphere.

Question regarding Alternate Power - what power number those this telemetry display when only 1 power meter is choosen in the used profile? It seem to be the same, but not identical synced in the UI-refreshing. How come? Pulled battery on my 2nd power meter to make sure it wasn't that one showing up in Alternate Power even though I removed it from the profile.

Also something for the feature wishlist - one seperate metric for the Alternate Power, and another one for the Power + Alternate Power averaged together (like it is like now no matter you want it or not) . But I can imagine this already been suggested - multiple power meters on indoor setups is common these days and there is interest of regular evaluation of how they read against each other

And perhaps even a "third" Alternate Power while at it if someone takes on the task, why not being able to handle them all if you e.g have a power crank & power pedals, plus rigging the bike up on a smart trainer in the winter. Shame not to take the opportunity to check in that no one is standing out significantly

Nevermind, it was my smart trainer that apparently was the "2nd" power meter. When searching for Ant+ devices it both came up as a power-device and FEC-device (naturally), but though did seperately give power readings (tested when just connected one at once)
