Hope it's not too silly a question . . . what is RR?

Ramp Rate.

The rate at which the long term stress has been increasing.
It looks back 7 days, or whatever you have configured in preferences for STS.

So, negative figures indicate CTL/LTS has been dropping recently and positive means its been increasing.
Obviously, if you ramp up too quickly - i.e. try to do more miles/intensity too early - then you risk injury.

Its just a way of quantifying the rate of change in training load over the short term.
Its been in GC for at least 5 years ;)

Hehe. Maybe we should change the name to "Ramp". I wanted something succinct to go with LTS/STS etc.

I think its quite useful for eyeballing a PMC and identifying training blocks. Might be something we can use to plan and even reverse engineer a plan from training history.

Is possible to create a chart for RR ?

thanks

Yes. If you watch the video on Metric Trends charts on the GoldenCheetah website you will see how to add curves. In 3.2 we now allow 'Stress' type curves to be added, alongside Bests, Estimates and Metrics.

Hi, I have this issue as well.

I'm not able to add any of the 4 stress values as a curve with any value other than 0. I watched the Metric Trends video but it seems to have been made before the 'stress' options were added.

I'm on 3.2 RC2.

Can you share the setting you are using ?
i.e. which metric and what type of stress ?

Ok, sorry, think I understand it now, you have to pick both a metric and the stress type for the curve to show. Makes sense now... ignore me!

Sounds good and according to expert sources this rate , when building fitness should be around the 5 -7 ... anymore might lead to overtraining... a 0  or neg  shows a lessening of 'fitness'  or maybe best described as healthy recovery.
A useful metric.

There's a difference between the LTS Ramp Rate metric and the RR metric. When charting I can only see the LTS Ramp Rate metric, and not the RR metric, but they don't seem to be calculated the same way. Can you clarify a little more how the RR is being calculated for a ride?

Thanks!

I'm curious about which section of the app to be looking at for the RR number. When I look at the summary of a single activity I see one number, and when I look at the trends tab and see the number in the summary there, it gives me different numbers. If it's a running 7-day tally, would it be correct to say that the "last 7 days" date range give me the most accurate reflection of my current ramp rate or should I go by activity?

Thanks!
