I wanted to be able to access GC from my desktop PC and a laptop. I thought i could do this by moving the athlete folder to Dropbox and have both devices access it.
I moved the folder and tried to open GC, obviously it could not find the athlete folder and I could not get to the Options menu to change the location of where i had moved it to. I thought i could just move a copy back to it's original location, open GC and then point to the Dropbox location. After doing that, GC would crash or just freeze, I tried to create a temporary new athlete just get me back up and running. I have now got myself into a condition (not exactly sure how) where I get the screen in the attached file. Not sure how to get GC back up a running correctly. Any help would be truly appreciated.
I have tried using the Command Line -- startup up option to bring up the "Choose an Athlete" dialog box. There is no option to select an athlete, see attached screen shot. I tried restoring this complete directory "C:\Users\alanb\AppData\Local\GoldenCheetah" from an auto PC backup that was performed last night before I created the problem, but that did not work. Not sure what I can try next. Can I create a new athlete and associate with the existing data?I am sorry to keep bugging you, I know you are probably getting frustrated
I am extremely frustrated at the moment.
I notice that when I create a new Athlete it creates it a level lower in the directory structure than I expect "C:\Users\alanb\AppData\Local\GoldenCheetah\Alan\Alan"
Where are you based?
