I'm trying to create some ERG files in GC and they don't have the power
levels, either from the GC train wizard, ERGdb online, or a manually
created file using already working ERG course headers. What am I doing
wrong?

Also, in the process of trying to delete a ERG workout, I managed to
make all workouts disappear, even when re-downloaded and added. If I try
to add them again, GC says "xxx.erg already exists in workout library"
How do I get them to reappear for use?

Some suggestions for the train view project.
1. Allow user to delete individual workouts in Train view
2. Allow user to edit workouts (and devices?) with Wizard.
3. In Create Wizard, some function of copy/paste OR allow for some form
of "repeat x times". (this would help me greatly for creating
micro-ad-nauseam intervals for Cyclocross. i.e. 10min of 15s at 150% 15s
at 50%, repeated 3 times)
4. Add minimize to the play controls window, or at least an easy way to
make it reappear after closing.

Thanks all!

Luther

Can anyone help me with the ERG file creation issues? The weather is currently good for outdoor workouts, but with lows around/below freezing in the forecast, I could use the indoor option. Thanks for the help!

I haven't been able to use GC with my KICKR so I started using VeloReality for creating ERG files and communicating with the trainer.  It's not an analysis tool, rather strictly a live training piece of software.  you can create ERG files and save different bunches of intervals for repetition etc...

Not 100% sure but it's probably a path/library refresh that needs to be looked at.

- Make sure the correct path is set for the Workout Library under the Preference (first tab on the bottom)
- Under the Train view, under the Workouts list, click the option icon (top right) and select "Scan for workouts", click search.

It should add all the files that are found in the folder.

I have been using Hurts Ergo to control my trainer, It's a Ipad/Iphone app that is free to use (and you can pay to be able to save your rides) and all you have to do is copy your workout to the iPad or use the ergDB.

I renamed the TrainDB file, and that solved the issue with a fresh download of files.

I'm still not able to successfully build my own workout, either within the GC wizard, or from an imported file. Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong?

Hi,

Could you maybe attach a simple ERG file that you've created with the
wizard? Can check whether anything looks wrong with the format (though I
suspect not if imported files are failing also).

Regards,
Jon

So it seems I've figured it out. I switched to
http://chicagotriclub.com/erg/erg.asp for ERG creation, and it works as
expected.

Edit, I think I figured out what I was doing wrong. Do ERG files work in
absolute W and MRC work in % of FTP?

Or, maybe the DB refresh helped import the new files? Either way, it's
working as needed. Thank goodness, snow is in the air and I have over a
month of CX races left :)

Hi Luther,

We're closing out the feature list for 3.11 and a graphical workout editor is on the list, its probably the biggest bit of development left. It will be easy to use, promise.

Reckon something by Christmas is doable.

Sweet, will it be possible to edit existent workouts?

I have been editing a bunch of workout and off setting intervals in a PITA. (I'm using Excel now lol)

Yes ! It would be pretty rubbish if it only created new ones ! :)

This is awesome! As soon as I get a free moment, I'm going to revisit the compiling world and help out with some testing. I need some motivation to get on that trainer....
