Love GC!  Never used GC Train so having a go but without sucess.

Have Garmin Vector 3s and a BTLE speed sensor on my Track bike/Roller setup and a Wahoo HRM. Using 3.6 Dev build 4012 on a mac with Ventura 13.0.1 and Ant+ and BLE dongles connected to Mac (at the same time and seperately).

Connection to V3s hit and miss and speed sensor (Wiggle Lifeline BT4 & Ant+ comp)) has never connected and  so I continue to rely on my Garmin Edge 1030+ to collect the data.

Have read the troubleshooting guide but nothing works. Have ensured sensors are active before going through Add Device procedure (FEC partially works for V3s but not speed). BLE4.0 mode has never detected anything.

Have discounted Mac because have BKOOL loaded and it readily picks up my Elite Drivo Smart Trainer and HRM. ANy help for a novice would be welcome. Dave P

Vectors 3 should work configured as ANT+ Power Meter sensor (not FEC), and you can enable simulate speed from power in preferences. BTLE problem is likely related to https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/issues/4093

Thanks Ale. Have got the Vectors working on ANT+ but no registration of the Lifeline BT4 speed sensor even in "autodetect at start up". The speed emulation is quite a bit off so it looks like I will need to rely on the Edge1030 for now and not save the GC Train workout data. No great drama. Hope someone more knowledgable than I finds a fix. I do love the fact that in GC you can design a workout around WBAL depletion and watch in realtime your energy drain away :):):)

As I commented before BTLE seems to be a no go for macOS Monterrey and newer, if your speed sensor is dual you can try to configure it as a speed sensor in ANT+ device, otherwise speed simulation can be tuned adjusting the virtual bike parameters in preferences.

Sadly I have reverted to just using the Garmin 1030+ as GC Train is so tempermental. You cannot gurantee from one session to the next whether it will read the Garmin Vectors via my Ant doggle. The 1030+ provides rock steady power, cadence and speed but the GC Train readings are all over the place (eg 2000watts). Not the end of the world as a still use GC in Activity and Trend mode and have exported its data to my own Python app. Thanks for the assistance..

One last try. Have ordered a 2m USB cable extension to see if it is an interference issue. What i do not understand (non techie) is that ZWIFT and BKOOL work seemlessly without the Ant dongle and the Mac Pro (OS 13.01) internal BLE h/w, both with my Smart trainer (Elite Drivo Direct). The latter picks up the Vectors and HRM.

the 2m extension cured the interference problem for Ant+ on Power and Cadence but not Speed. Good if i could run GC without Doggles like BKOOL and ZWIFT do. Time to focus on BLE noting the ongoing issues for GC https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/issues/4093

You can enable derive speed from power, which tends to be more useful than "wheel" speed in most cases.

When you use BKOOL/ZWIFT without the extension cable, are you using ANT+ or BTLE?

Did a quick test with BKOOL this week and it was via the Mac Pro Laptop BLE connection and no Dongle. BKOOL picked up the Vectors, HRM and Speed sensor. Will try again tomorrow to confirm. Thanks as always for your support.

That is expected, as explained in the link I posted before, BTLE is more robust WRT interferences than ANT+, and it should be similarly simple to configure GC to use BTLE on Windows, Linux or macOS 10.14/10.15/11, regrettably there is a pending issue for 12 and I don't know if the same happens on 13.

Thanks Ale. Will use Ant until someone far more clever than I comes up with a fix. Just for info as promised, this is BKOOL loaded on my Mac Book Pro V13 OS detecting the Garmin Vector 3s and the Wiggle Life Line speed sensor without any dongle on BLE. Prefer GC Train as I can train with WBal which is not provided elsewhere. Many thanks for your assistance. Issue closed.
