Hi,

I'm just starting with indoor training. I use a Dell laptop with Ubuntu 20.4 and I've downloaded GoldenCheetah_v3.6-DEV2006_x64.AppImage

In terms of the bike equipment:

- Elite Suito direct drive trainer
- bike has a Power2Max NGeco powermeter (which should be both BLE and ANT+
- either a Garmin ANT heart rate strap or a LifeLine Bluetooth & ANT+ compatible Heart Rate Monitor
- a USB ANT+ stick on a USB extension

I'm looking to use the train feature. In part that is because long term I want to be able to train off grid so few of the commercial training software work very well eg FulGaz, RGT.

Q1: If I'm getting power and cadence appearing how do I know if they are coming from the Powermeter or from the Trainer?

Q2: If I setup an ANT+ and FE-C device then the Garmin heartrate works but not the Lifeline?

Q3: If I try to create a Bluetooth 4.0 device then it sometimes picks up power & cadence but not always and I have not been able to work out why. Is there a logging, status or debug feature?

Q4: I have not been able to get heartrate using Bluetooth 4.0 and I'm not sure what to check. It works with FulGaz running on my Android phone.

Q5: I can only see how to Add and Delete Devices in the Train part of GoldenCheetah. Is there an "edit device" somewhere?

Note that I have created /etc/udev/rules.d/51-ant-usb.rules with
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0fcf", ATTRS{idProduct}=="1008", MODE="0666"

lsusb shows:
Bus 001 Device 011: ID 0fcf:1008 Dynastream Innovations, Inc. ANTUSB2 Stick

Many thanks

Dave

When using ANT+ you can enable/disable each sensor in the config, only one speed/cadence/hr sensor is supported, for power the first one is assigned to Power and the second to Alternate Power

NFI

Q3: If I try to create a Bluetooth 4.0 device then it sometimes picks up power & cadence but not always and I have not been able to work out why. Is there a logging, status or debug feature?

See goldencheetah.log parallel to your athlete folder or start gc with --debug to get the output at the terminal

Hi Ale,

Thanks for the quick reply.

"in the config" when creating a new Device?

I'll try the logs and debugging to see if I can find something more useful out. Thanks!
