Hi,

I think this was discussed beofre, but I did a search and cannot find the answer...

I ma getting insosistent results for SWOLF in my openwater swims... Since Swolf is a "pool" metric I would expect to ahve 0 SWOLF in openwater activities, and it is the case in some of them, but other times I get high (70's, 80's) values. I then set pool size to 25m  and sometimes, SWOLF turns 0, or  turns to a value more in line with my normal pool SWOLFs (30´s)

Any advice?

TIA,

fran

We use a default Pool Length = 50m for OWS as explained in metric description, you can set it to 25 or 0 if you want.

For OWS is is important to remove gaps in recording, as explained in https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/FAQ-RUNNING-&-SWIMMING#how-to-fix-runs-and-swims

Since SWOLF depends on Pool Length you can use a filter to chart comparable values.

Thanks! I see swolf in open water as a useless metric since conditions can vary so much with currents etc.. no two swims are alike, and swolf can lead you to false conclusions IMO

So don't use it, it is easy to filter out open water swims using a filter.
