Hi everone,

is there a special function (filter) to find all activities which contain a defined segment?

If you turn on the compare section and then drag a segment over to this section, GC will ask you if you want to also include all (or selected) other rides when you have ridden this segment.

Hi Pontus,

thats fine. But I want to write the name of  the segment in the search/filter box and GC filters all activities I was riding this segment. Is this possible?

Hey Manuel

Not that I know of. You'd have to backwork it from where Pontus suggested.. drag it across, and it brings up all the workouts in the compare pane. Then if you want to look at a specific activity with that segment from the compare pane, take note of the date and go find it in the activities pane.

Is there some preference that needs to be checked in order to enable this?
I can make a selection and drag it over to the compare pane no problem. I can even manually add another selection from another ride into that pane to compare them.
But, it never prompts me to attempt to search out those automatically.

Hey Dan

When you drag in route segments that are identified by GPS points, where you have a history of riding.. it prompts you, as below.

You can select the date period as well..

This does not work for peak power, or user intervals, or efforts.

Any chance that was the issue..?

Hello Jean,
Unfortunately, I do not get any pop ups when I drag in a segment. It simply pops in the compare pane. If I click the "ON" button, I see all the totals, metrics, etc. Now, I can find a similar segment in another ride and do that again to compare them, but it just doesn't prompt me to do look for matches itself.

I've tried it with FIT and tcx files.

I'll try again on my PC at home with the same athlete library.

Thanks for the images. When it looks like above, I'll know it is working!

Hey Dan

You first have to create a route segment. To do this right click on an interval and choose "Create a route segment".
This creates a new interval category "SEGMENTS" where your newly created route segment is located. Now, if you drag this segment to the compare pane you will be prompted to select a season.
Hope this helps.

Sorry to revive so late, but I am getting the exact same situation as OP El Duderino. I get no pop-up/prompt window to select season. Does GC have some kind of processing delay to ID segments? Is it possible my coordinates are too dissimilar (they shouldn't be, I've done this segment hundreds of times).

FYI UPDATE ONLY -

This issue did ultimately resolve with time. I did close and reopen a couple of times in the original hour or so window of time following creation of the segment, without successful implementation of the prompt window on segment date selections. However after an overnight and and reattempt today, it worked perfectly. I considered deleting my prev post, but I figure an update is most appropriate here.

When segments are identified you will see a progress bar at the top of the screen to tell you it is in progress.
