I have a video showing this but I'll ask first before spending the bandwidth if not necessary.
I'm using a Wahoo Kickr trainer, connecting to the software via ant+ to my Windows laptop that's running GC.

When in use, the chart showing Power with no smoothing fluctuates pretty severely. Using the Manual Erg Mode training program as a test. I set target to 130 watts, I spin up to ~70rpm and get up to 130w
Holding this cadence and attempting to hold my output as steady as I can (there will be SOME actual fluctuations, I am human) the real time watt chart will jump from +-20 points within seconds of each other.

Obviously using the smooth will mask this, but is this expected behavior?

What firmware version have you got on your KICKR?
I got a big power spikes with the latest one v1.6.53 and I was forced to downgrade to v1.4.47 to get rid of the spikes.

A small update, the firmware on my KICKR v1 was v1.5.63 not v1.6.53 when I got power spikes problems.

Looks like I have the Power Spike problem solved, at least for the Kickr2.
===============
I purchased a refurbed Kickr2 in Feb'17.
Attempted to run it with GC, but it wasn't stable.
Checking firmware versions I found out that refurb unit wasn't refurbed at all.  The firmware was way out of date, so I upgraded it.
That's when the severe spikes started; I upgraded GC.  Same problem, then I noticed no speed and trouble getting GC to start.
I'm local to Wahoo and logged a trouble ticket, with a form letter response.... 3+wks later, after some prodding.
I just drove that unit down to them and exchanged it for another.
Same problems.
Sent it back, they looked at it, said it worked fine on Trainer Road and returned it.
So, I started digging and noticed a post here about just using FEC for power.
Since I had figured out that you could get speed from FEC, then maybe power too?
Initially, I tried to switch power to FEC, that didn't work.
I set power to Unused, then the lower Unused to FEC and that fixed everything.
I've run several tests now with Zero power spikes!
This included a Kickr Upgrade to 3.3.53 as we had backed it down, at Wahoo's request, to see if had any effect.
GC is 3.4 build 3950
I attached a screen shot of the settings.

A bit off topic, but "refurbished" is often used by companies to clear out unsold, but old, stock - so it makes sense the firmware was ancient. The company protects their price point, while selling to people who would only buy at the lower price point. Or it's used to clear out inventory around the time of a new model release.
