Hi,

Damien has now added the new cycling dynamics* data series, you can import and chart on the ride plot.
No doubt they will propagate across the charts over time and some new metrics to track.

We now have around 35 different data series on the ride plot (!) and each one is hand crafted. This means Damien just spent more time than you can imagine in cut-and-paste hell to do this **.

THANK YOU DAMIEN !

Mark

* they only got released by Garmin a week ago !
** in 3.2 we will migrate to a more 'extensible' approach in the code !

2 rides in, it was already clear that I needed to add an additional wedge to my right foot to get the offset right. now i'm a consistent +1 on both sides, which is actually exactly what I want since I move my cleats in the winter to allow for a little thicker shoe cover. the power phase data will only become interesting by viewing trends, so I look forward to trying it out. i was excited about the standing/seated data but it doesn't seem to work for me yet.

Hi John,

according to Garmin's announcement standing/seating info is not part this upgrade - but will come later - even though fields are already visible on the head units.

I have to admit that I haven't digged into (besides PCO) how the data could be used best - but I agree - besides the real time view on the head-unit -
we need to think about which metrics / data analysis / visualization is needed to reveal insides/trends/... on this new data.

@all - share your ideas/experience/demands - they will most likely not make it into 3.11 (since this is pretty much done).

I am very interested to learn - and based on that help adding such metrics/analysis/... after 3.11

Where can I find this? I want to add it to my Golden Cheetah 3.1 install.

I added a first basic metrics (average) today for new "Dynamics".
But it seems there is something wrong with power phase (pedal center offset is ok).

I just switch power phase off to correct it.

Excellent news ! I plan to integrate this with live camera playback to see how I can influence the thing.

I think it would be interesting to scatter plot the power phase data;
- L/R power phase arc size v watts / aepf / cadence
- L/R power phase center v watts / aepf / cadence

Not sure what metrics we would want to track, but certainly the averages would be interesting for intervals.

I wonder if we can get some rough measure of muscle group contribution to the pedal stroke too .....

Can this be added to Golden Cheetah 3.1? How would I add it? (I compiled my 3.1 for Linux)
