Hey Jimmy, just wondering have you seen this?

"NOTE: You may need to copy the file to your PC before importing into applications like Golden Cheetah, importing directly from the USB may fail."

Hi! You can sync your Elemnt/Bolt over the air with i.e. dropbox. In GC you can define your dropbox-folder as the local storage.

i just used a wahoo bolt first time - May 28 and received the same message as the original poster.
i think i understand the advice -- save the file to the computer first and then retrieve the file from there.
i'm working on trying this -- right now i can't seem to get the pc to save the file either (i'm obviously not terribly savvy with this!).

is there any chance i want/need a newer/different version of gc (i have v3.4)

i do not think i understand option 2 -- dropbox folder (or maybe even setting up GC to get the file straight from device (w/o usb) in the way strava automatically gets a file from the wahoo. what tab do i use to set up dropbox folder options??

by the way - strava automatically got a trainer ride and then took the outdoor ride via a usb download.
i'm a teacher - so i'm going to check with our school's tech help person next.

thanks for any additional advice - sincerely, rick

Hi Rick!

1. You have to connect first your ELEMNT/BOLT with the Wahoo smartphone app. In the app go to 'Profile' and pair your ELEMNT/BOLT with your Dropbox account. Wahoo will create a folder 'WahooFitness' in your Dropbox/App-folder.
2. In GC you have to define your Dropbox as 'cloud account' (im using the german language version of GC, so I'm not sure about the english counterpart in GC at this point).
3. In GC you have to show GC in Options/Athlete/Auto Import the path to the WahooFitness folder.
4. Now your ELEMNT/BOLT should sync activities to your Dropbox to (as it did to your Strava) and, after starting, GC should import the activity from your Dropbox.

Hi,

I'm having this same problem.

I have the Wahoo linked to my Dropbox folder, and I have GC set to auto-import from that folder.

It tries to do the import and then I see an error message in the GC dialogue box saying: Error - local type 1 without previous definition .

Same message if I try to do a manual import.

Not entirely sure what to do. I've had no problems bringing in Zwift and other .fit files.

Cheers, Chris

Please make sure you are using 3.5DEV

I doubt my not so tech savvy self can help, but…

I just save my files from the bolt to the folder for golden cheetah files

Then in golden cheetah I use import from file (not from device).

Oddly, I can’t import directly from device (I get that same error message) – but saving the file into gold cheetah’s folder for activities first works just fine.

I’ll look into updating my gold cheetah version also.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve always been a bit intimidated about all the whistles in gc, but the help has been awesome and pretty much everything new thing I learn is really helpful.

Sincerely, rick
