Any way to force GC to pick the cadence from Vector2 power meter instead than from GSC-10 speed/cadence sensor?

Hi,

I have both a Garmin Vector2 Power Meter and a GSC-10 Speed/Cadence sensor installed on the bike.

Since the cadence is calculated by the power meter on the Edge 810 I own I did remove the magnet that would make the GSC-10 calculate it as well.

I now for the first time tried to hook up GC with Ant+ to do a live training session. Both sensors are properly paired but the GC insists on trying to get the cadence from the GSC-10 rather than the power meter. Because of this I get no cadence readings.

Is there any way to force the cadence to be read from the power meter?

Thanks
Stefano

This has been discussed before, see:

Thanks Claus,

so for what I understand the capability has not been coded in yet and
if I want GC to read cadence from power sensor I should disable the
speed/cadence.

Right?

Cheers
Stefano

I had the same issue with a Quarq and the GSC10.. it was always either/or.

Recently got one of the new Garmin Speed only units (the one that straps to the rear wheel hub), and this works well - It stays in my trainer wheel and does speed only, and the quarq handles the cadence. Outdoors it pulls speed from GPS. Neat solution.
