Elite Direto does not follow ERG program set in GC

Hi There,

I purchased an Elite Direto a few weeks ago, and once I was able to use it with GoldenCheetah.  But only once, and ever since every attempt to run an ERG program results in a constant 100W, don't know why.
Usually I'd start every training with a few minutes of 100W, so it was very annoying to find that after 5 minutes of easy spinning, nothing changed.

Today, I tried to run the following program:  9x20s@180r20s@80
After I realized that the Direto doesn't change the resistance, I tried to push the up/down buttons on the training screen.  To my surprise they did change the resistance!   But after clicking down a few times I got back to 100W, and after 4 minutes I kept pedalling without touching any buttons, and as you can see, it was still a steady 100W...

The train device is set to use just the FE-C and an h/r meter, I disabled the separate cadence sensor, power meter.  The Profile field says "18156h, 3935f", which are the correct IDs.
Display of everything works, power, cadence, speed is displayed, the attached TCX is the export from GC's own internal recording.
Currently my P2M powermeter has a flat battery, and the GC10 also totally inactive.

I attached the raw ANT file too, but I forgot to disconnect the train device so after 11 minutes I guess it's a lot of nothing.
I don't know much about ANT+, don't know what is this file, but I can see the IDs (5F 0F and EC 46) inside, so I guess it might help to find the cause of the problem?

I always restart GC before any attempt to use the trainer.  The trainer is already plugged in before I start GC.   Then go the train tab, press the red button, which turns green, my h/r start displaying, press start, and I also start pedalling.

The unit works with Elite's mobile app on my Samsung A3 ANT+ capable mobile phone, I ran ERG programs regularly, so the unit is not faulty.   Something is wrong with my GC configuration/setup maybe?
The ANT+ stick is about 3 meters from the Direto, but as I said display of everything works, no dropouts, so unless ERG mode requires much stronger signal, it's fine. Also, it worked once, but to be honest, I might have used the stick in another USB port then.

Can you suggest something to try?   I love GC, and the train tab is great, I love the quick code.   You only get features like this, when developers are also using the software!

Regads,
Attila

Tody I tried the move the ANT+ USB stick closer to the Direto via an old USB hub.  Guess what.   It works.
Maybe the Direto sends its signals at a strong level, but the receiver is very weak?

How does the FE-C ERG mode SET messages work?     Is it a single, one time transmission that from this moment set the resistance to X Watts?

Just one more problem.  It's a stuggle to get started, but only with GoldenCheetah.   With Elite's own mobile app I can start pedalling quite easily, and reach a good cadence quickly.
But with GC it's a fight.   I set the first 20seconds to just 80W, but the chart shows that I had to push around 160W to get the cadence up.  And 160W with 20-30 rpm is hard, not the effort I want when I'm just starting pedalling.
See the attached screenshot.

I was too quick to say it's fine.   After 33 minutes every sensor's data flatlined.   They must have been at the movies? ;)   (Flatliners)

Just bought a Direto too.
Same problem. ERG dies not change the wattage.
Everything is working in Elite software, but would like to use GC.
Ant+ dongle is max 30cm away from trainer.

Any logfiles we can post somewhere?

I have just purchased a Drivo. Same problem. Works in Zwift and Elite's mobile app no problem. I'd prefer to use GC though becuase I am testing athlete's and it is easier for data management. I've created a MAP ramp test starting at 100w and increases 20w per minute.

The second I start the training workout (press the red botton in GC) the Drivo's resistance increases until I cannot continue pedaling.

Did you try the 3.5 test version?
I did and trainer was responding.

Will give that a try on Monday. Also was messing with it yesterday, and perhaps it has to do with not hooking up the speed/cadence sensor?

Hi,

the same problem for me. I have the Elite Direto connected using ANT FE-C.
Initial resistance is very high. After some time (about 45s) it seems to be okay at 100watt. After one minute the Elite should target for 200watt and again the power output is too strong.
I can hear the Elite changing the resistance the whole time, maybe the device is receiving too many commands.

Just another thing, I also have problems with the speed. If I add the speed signal from the Elite Direto, the speed display changes from e. g. 20km/h to 1,6km/h for a short period of time.
If I remove the speed and cadence sensor from the profile and only use the FE-C the display will show the whole time one value, e. g. 1,6km/h. I used the right wheel size but it seems not to be used for FE-C.

Can I enable an ANT debug log to see the communication between GC and Elite Direto?
Or is there a way I can manually send commands to the Elite Direto?

Today, I tried it again and everything works. I just connected the FE-C signal and disabled cadence and speed from the Direto.

Sometimes during the start of the training the power is much too high for the first 20seconds, but then it is okay.
Also the problem with the wrong speed is not visible anymore. As far as I can remember the last times I always did the training with another software before GC. Maybe the ANT stick had a problem.
