The new 'sidebar' based charts are very nice, thanks for the hard work there Mark!

Is there still a TRIMP-based PMC hidden somewhere in the list? I only have Power on some of my rides, so for an 'overall' PMC, it makes sense for me to use TRIMP, but I don't see it in the new list of charts.

Hopefully I'm just blind, or it can be added easily!

Good point. There isn't a trimp pmc but I will add one.

Cheers

I couldn't find this in previous posts, so I ask your permission to post it here...

Is there a way (or multiple ways) to estimate (guesstimate) the TSS based on the TRIMP score? When doing MTB rides, I do not have a powermeter. What I do today is take a more or less similar (duration and RPE) road ride with a PM and use that TSS for the MTB ride.

I have also made a long list of TSS-TRIMP ratios for my own road rides, so I could use this ratio to estimate the TSS for a MTB ride. Nevertheless, is there any other efficient and true way of doing this??

Thanks!

You can estimate TSS from heart rate data, but it's not worth it IMO, since 1) such estimates are imprecise, and 2) the Performance Manager approach is as much art as it is science in the 1st place. You're therefore just as well, if not better, off relying on perceived exertion ("if it feels hard, it is hard").

Thank you Dr Coggan :)

By adding TSS to the metric page you can override it for the ride if you are concerned you aren't getting any credit for your effort :)

The 3.1 upgrade will add it automatically but you just need to add 'TSS' as a field and it will recognise it as the metric, most folks add it to the 'Metric' tab.

Mark

Hi Mark, is the stress balance metric on the "PMC (TRIMP)" chart in the sidebar using power, rather than TRIMP? I've just started looking at the side bar charts and while short term and long term stress looks right, the stress balance is a big old curve of nothing.

Based on my workout data TRIMP_Zonal_Points seems to be a good estimation for TSS of non PM workouts. I've uploaded the plot into GC.
