I tried to import data to GC from my Garmin 910XT. A couple of the files were 'swim' files, which caused the uploader to hang (Win 7). The only way to get out was to close the program. Now I can't start the program - I keep getting the error:
Problem signature:

Any way to get this to open again?

Thanks!

You will need to delete the errant files from the ride directory. It would be really neat if you could send the files to us, we can then take a look and work out what went wrong.

Are you running 3.0 or 2.1 ?

I'm sorry I cannot remember the win7 path you will need to look at, but post a reply if you are struggling and a win7 user may be able to point you in the right direction (I am away from home at the moment and only have a mac with me).

Good luck,
Mark

Thanks Mark. I have attached the batch of files I think I was importing. One or two of them are swim files that show up in the loader with blank date info.

I was able to delete the files from the GC directory and it started fine. Unfortunately it's difficult for me to differentiate the file types before selecting them to upload to GC - I end up loading all of my bikes and runs to GC, then just pay attention the to files that have power data. I thought this would work with the swim data also, but obviously it didn't.

I'm currently on GC 2.1 RC1.

Hi, where are those files located on a MAC ? I was trying to use the train portion of GC and it didn't work.  Since then I can't start GC, it crashes.  It's probably from one of the files "train mode" created.

thanks.

On a Mac the files are located in ~/Library/GoldenCheetah/<ridername>

There is also a metric.log file in there that logs the metric db refresh. It will stop at the file that caused the crash.

I would love to see the file that causes the problem.

It would also help if you mentioned what version you are running?

Thanks,
Mark

Gareth changes the path to ~/Library/GoldenCheetah-v3 so you can run v3 alongside v2 without changing any files.

So you need to look in ~/Library/GoldenCheetah-v3/<ridername> where ~ is obviously your home directory.

I mus really be missing something because I have no folders that start with Golden.  I'm also new with a MAC, maybe that's the problem, but under library I don't have that folder.  Same thing if I use the search function.

You need to look at the Library folder in your HOME directory...

Good luck,

Philippe, the Library folder will be inside your home folder and for me it is hidden for "Finder" , I open it with a terminal and use command line...
