CloudDB deprecation warning

CloudDB server -the backend enabling Chart and User Metrics upload/download has been running unmaintained for years (Kudos to Joern for such a resilient implementation) but it is doomed to malfunctioning around march-april 2025 and stop running completely at the end of the year.

We are looking for replacement alternatives and we will try to preserve the most relevant charts and metrics currently hosted there, besides to add other objects s.t. perspectives and custom data processors, but we will not plan to backup the whole DB, so if there are charts/metrics there you want to preserve, my recommendation would be to download them and export to files.

Update: Magnus Gille is migrating the CloudDB server to a newer GO on GAE to allow the continuity of service and evolution.

I tried upload and download charts and user metrics, curate and delete them, and all seems to be working ok.

For anyone willing to collaborate, there are binaries using the new server but sharing the original database available for testing from https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/releases/tag/snapshot

Users can edit/delete their contributions using Tools > Contributions > Manage ...

What we need is not so much functional testing but to generate some traffic on the new server, that snapshot build is exactly like v3.8-DEV2601 but it uses the new server for CloudDB operations, some collaboration would be useful.
