Guys,

Looking for best practices in order to combine data in GC from two devices that dont support each other.

The Stryd footpod as you know does not measure HR.

Since I have a Polar V800, not all data from Stryd is supported on the watch, except for pace, cadence and power.

What I tend to do is run with the V800 so I can get my heart rate data, at the same time the Stryd is saving its metrics in offline mode within the footpod. After the run I sync Stryd footpod data to the Powercenter and polar data to Polar Flow. I then download each of these files from their respective web platforms.

In GC, I import Stryd FIT file and I can see all the data metrics (LSS, VO, Power etc) including the Developer tab in edit mode. But since I lack HR, I use a "combine" operation and import the Polar V800 file so I can include the HR portion of the run within the Stryd data. As soon as this operation is over, I notice that the Developer tab suddenly disappears, and metrics like Form Power and LSS go missing. Pretty annoying!

What's the reason for GC doing this, and how do I get around this so I can see all the Stryd data in Edit mode including HR from the V800 device? Thank you!

Combine and Split activities don't support XData in v3.4, AFAIK.

A possible workaround in this case could be to add the missing HR column to the imported Stryd activity in Edit mode and then copy&paste that column from the imported V800 activity.

Hi Ale,

Thanks. But it looks like I can column of data only to the developer tab, not standard tab.

The issue I notice here is that Polar HR data is second by second, so 1 Hz. Stryd's data in the developer tab such as LSS etc are sampled every 2 seconds. I can't just copy the HR data because I have twice as many rows as I have corresponding Stryd data. What's the work-around for this? I want Polar's HR data to be added as a column in Stryd's FIT file inside the standard tab.

You can also add missing columns to standard tab using the column header context menu: https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/UG_ChartTypes_Activities#column-header---context-menu

If the imported Stryd's FIT file has the standard fields sampled second by second you can just paste the Polar HR once you add the HR column as pointed out above, otherwise you could use Fix Gaps to interpolate Stryd's standard fields to 1 sample per second and then copy&paste the Polar HR data.
