Hi,

GC runs nicely on Linux on my Chromebook. However, the map view, summary and overview just remain black. It's Chrome OS Version 91.0.4472.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Any ideas / thoughts on what the issue?

Thanks

Help > About > Version reports the OpenGL version detected
You can run GC with —debug to see of there are errors reported.
New to v3.6 is —debug-rules which allows to increase debugging level for Qt and some GC components

Thanks a lot!
It's Open GL 3.1 Mesa 19.2.8.

How do I run it in debug? This doesn't seem to work: ./GoldenCheetah_v3.6-DEV2009_x64.AppImage -debug-rules

Thanks again for the help.

You need to use two minus characters " - -debug-rules". I made space between first two, just to make it more visible.

thanks!
"--debug" gives me:

...but it appears that has just something to do with the file parsing?

--debug-rules doesn't give me any further option to debug in 3.6.

Any idea what could be the issue?

Thanks

Yes, they happens when you import a FIT file and they are unrelated to what you are reporting.

Just start GC and activate each of the non-working charts to see if some errors are reported with --debug option.

I am really sorry but I have not been able to resolve it.
I tried the --debug option but it I don't get an error message in the GoldenCheetah.log file or on the command window when opening the charts.

Is there anything else i can try or anything wrong in my approach.

thanks

Not that I know, but I have not access to a Chromebook for testing, and I have not seen any report of GoldenCheetah AppImage running on such a device either.

ok thanks. I understand. The only two charts which are not working in 3.6 are Overview and Maps. What's the difference to the other charts? Is there anything else I need to install? Thanks

Map and Summaries (Activity, Trends and Intervals) are web pages and use Qt WebEngine, if neither work as you commented in your first post, there is likely an issue with that component which runs as a separate process for security reasons. It’s weird no error appears on the console with —debug, perhaps increasing the debug level using debug-rules may help to understand.

OTOH, if the problem were specific to map, there may be other causes, see https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/FAQ-CHARTS#my-map-doesnt-show

Not in any other Linux distribution that I know, but again, I have no experience with this one. Perhaps others may help.
