I've linked my dropbox account and when I choose "Cloud Download", it shows my account is linked.

When I get to the synchronize page, it doesn't show any items but if I download a workout locally, "Import data" and point to the local file it imports fine.

Am I misunderstanding what is supposed to happen with the "Cloud Download"?

thanks

It allows to download previously uploaded activities, for example to sync activities with other computer running GC.

What is the recommended workflow for getting a workout from an app?

Currently what I'm doing is:
From an App
     share workout with Dropbox
From laptop
     download workout from Dropbox
From GC
Sync button on left to import my new workout
Share / Synchronize Activities / Dropbox

Is this correct or is there a workflow I'm missing where I don't have to manually copy the workout from Dropbox to my laptop?

If the App generates a file format GC understand on Dropbox, you can setup autoimport so GC automatically imports those files at startup, see https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/UG_Preferences_Athlete#auto-import

No, as I commented before Dropbox download is intended to sync between GC instances, not to import from other apps.

Hi,
i had the same "mis"understanding with the dropbox integration and i friend of mine too: i copied my .fit file from wahoo to dropbox and expected that it was imported automatically. I understood from your post, that the Dropbox synch is only for synching different GC instances but maybe its a feature request that also other users would like to have to synch with there devices via Dropbox directly.

I will now install the dropbox daemon and then autoimport - doing it out of GC would be nicer. ;-)
