I have a series of trainer sessions containing a varying number of intervals of varying length and duration. I am looking for a way to plot metrics e.g. average HR for each interval over time i.e trends of metrics for every interval in a season. I could rename each interval "sweet_spot" but I still can't find a away to display metrics for only those intervals, and not while rides, for a season. Is this possible.

Dragging each interval into the compare pane works but I would to automate the process.

thanks,

Tony

You can do that in a User Chart, see an example in  https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/UG_Special-Topics_Working-with-User-Charts#example-using-intervals-in-trends-view, also in Python and R charts using Season Intervals API.

(cont) The above is just an example, you can use other criteria than the name to filter intervals (Distance, Duration, average power/hr/speed in a range, etc. or a combination), and you can use the group by features of the user chart to consolidate multiple intervals on the same day, for example if you want to look for trends in the average power for your weekly 2x20' intervals or their power/hr relationship, all the interval metrics are available.
