Hello,

I read the FAQ, Documentation, I read that GC can control my smart trainer, but I can't.

I can control the resistance with Tacx software, but I prefer use GC ;)

I use a Tacx Neo Smart (https://tacx.com/fr/produit/neo-smart/).
GoldenCheetah is installed on a mac book pro macosx 10.12 (sierra) with a USB ANT+ Antenna (https://tacx.com/fr/produit/usb-ant-antenna/).
I add Devices with FE-C, and it's ok, in training view a can see all info (power, cadence, fc, etc...) but GoldenCheetah don't control the resistance of my smart trainer.
I read the FAQ "Troubleshooting TacX Device FE-C connection" and I turn off bluetooth on my phone.
I don't know what I must do to control my smart trainer with GC.

Need your help ;)

Hey,

do you have a workout with power targets selected on the left when you start a session?

Regards,
Stefan

Hi,
I have some workout imported/downloaded from ergdb
In training view I select a workout (on the left) with some interval (different power step).
What is exactly "a workout with power targets selected" ?

Do you have a power meter paired as well as the FE-C device paired?
I also use the tacx neo without any issues.

I have had a couple of issues when pairing, and using GC in the past. When I had the tacx app open on my phone GC could read the power, cadance etc but wasn't able to change the resistence.

I don't have another power meter.
The only power meter is the tacx neo and he is paired with GC with "Ant+ and FE-C".

Hi,

I switched off my phone, I don't have any bluetooth peripheral.
I don't have other FE-C material, or other connected device.

I put my heart rate monitor, I turned on the neo smart trainer.
I connected the antenna ANT+ USB to my mac.
I stopped all my apps.
I launched GC.
I chose the ANT + device search.

Synchronization has taken place.

I started a training session.
All information are clearly visible, but the resistance of the smart trainer is not controlled by GC.
For proof, the "target power" went from 100 to 375, I did not feel resistance to pedaling.
On the screenshot, the power is 99 and the target at 375, it makes a huge difference I have to feel a resistance.

Can I open some log file, or check some parameters on GC ?

Hi,

Rather than select "Power" (second screen shot) have you tried connecting via "FE-C"?
(Click on the up/down arrows and scroll to FE-C)

That is the configuration I use on my Vortex Smart. I also do not select a separate speed/cadence channel as on the Vortex that is transmitted via the FE-C channel.

Yep you need to select FE-C in the device list. Its an option in the drop down. You can omit power, speed and cadence (by using the drop down and selecting None or Off).

attached is my device pairing, I have a Tacx Neo. With this config I get HR, power, speed, cadence, resistance changing etc.

Yey, It Work's.

I select "FE-C" on one slot in device pairing, but this doesn't work.
I wait some time, but nothing.
And I use another slot with "FE-C" and this work.
Strange, but now it's work, I think it's a capricious pairing.

Thanks, TJDunnigan and Mike :)

Hi there
I could set up my tacx Neo trainer with the help of this post.
When running GCin train mode, I'm getting speed spikes every few seconds, the speed is not kept constant.
Let's say the speed is 30km/h then the display drops to 15km/h for half a second then back to 30....
any idea ?
Thank's to every body particularly to the developpers Team.

Have you disabled the speed/cadence control? I believe the Neo sends both via the FE-C channel.
Also, if you have a ANT speed sensor on your bike (for road use), that might be also paired and conflicting with the Neo data.
