Hello all,

I can't get GC v3.5 (I have tried 3.6 as well) to recognise my ANT+ dongle.
It works on a PC but I want to run this on my new M1 Mac Air running Monterey.

Running system information the machine does recognise it on the USB 3.1 bus as a Suunto Movestick Mini. I did also try Trainer road and it works with that.

Am I doing something wrong? or is there something I'm not doing.

Thank you

if you look @ About this Mac, by clicking on the Apple Logo  in the top left of your screen, and choose System Report. Near the bottom of the report under USB... you should see something like this if the Ant+ Stick is good.

Hi Rui_B,

Thanks for replying but, thats exactly where I got the confirmation from. Still stuck with GC not finding anything in the Add Device wizard (ANT+ and FE-C search).

Is this from a M1 or x64 based system?

To answer your question it is an M1, however I have been messing about on my machine and dumped 3.5 and went back to 3.6 build 4007 (August 14 2021)
and now for some reason it works. I havn't done anything differently just dumped 3.5 to the bin and installed 3.6. As it hasn't been signed I had to bypass the check in Security & Privacy but, the ANT+ dongle is now recognised by GC and I can assiciate my ANT devices.

Happy to supply more info if needed by the devs.

Thanks

Great to know v3.6 works with ANT+ devices on M1 systems, for v3.5 you would need the special version using the same libusb version as v3.6, as explained in https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/ANT--and-BTLE-Troubleshooting#macos-catalina-and-usb-issues-in-modern-macs, but there is no incentive to going backward, IMHO.

It helps to receive some positive feedback, typically only problems are reported, thanks.
