Hi.

I'm new to using a power meter for cycling and Golden Cheetah and need to be pointed in the right direction for what I am sure is something obvious that I am missing regarding the Workout Editor in v 3.5.

I've filled in the basic athlete information and imported 15 rides with power data done over the past month from my Garmin Edge 130. The Activity View looks as I expect it to from having watched several of the videos.

Following the example of the video on the Workout Editor, I created a workout using View/Add Chart/Workout Editor. Here's what is puzzling me:
  1. When opened, the Workout Editor is not showing the power zones as in the video and does not seem to reference the initial value that I put in for CP.
  2. After the workout is saved, it does not appear in the Training View. My screen appears as in the attached screen shot, i.e. it seems to indicate that I have no workouts. How do I find the workout that I have just created? I know that it has been saved because I can see it in the default folder. If I run the "Scan Hard Drives" option it finds one workout, presumably the one that I created. But what do I do with this? The only option in the dialog box is "Save", but this also simply returns a screen indicating that there are no workouts.
I can't find anything in the FAQs that goes to this, but please point me to the right one if I have simply missed it. And thanks for all the effort that it takes to put together this software package!

Cheers,

John

I double-checked that I have access to the folder, but the problem remains.

Just to be sure that I'm approaching this correctly - saved workouts should appear in the search field in the upper right of the training screen (see attached screen shot)?

I've also noticed that the "scan hard drive" function always shows the search path as C:\Users\user\AppData\Local, even if the folder for Workout and Video Sync has been changed in the Tools\Options dialog. Is this by design or a glitch? I ask because the user\AppData\Local folder has folders for almost every app on the computer; it makes for a long search.

No, filter is for activities, not workouts.

Workouts should appear on the left sidebar in Train view, under Devices list there should be a Workouts list, there are little icons at the bottom to show/hide each list and the sidebar itself also can

You can add or remove paths to the search using the (+)(-) buttons.

There is one tutorial video on the main site about working with Train view, additionally this this may help for genera UI handling: https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/UG_General_UI-Layout-and-terminology
