How can I take a video I have recorded, match the power data from my
WKO+ ride file and create a workout video to use with Golden Cheetah?
I have looked at the Erg files for CompuTrainer, I have used a few
files from ErgDB, and understand the basics of coordinating the data
to the video. Is there basic instruction online somewhere so I can
learn and build my own video workouts? Thanks

Hey Paul,

I run ErgDB and have been looking into this. There are three ways I'm
looking at. The first is the easiest to do.

1) Select time segments for RPE like the Sufferfest does. You could
do something like 5 minutes at RPE 7, 3 at RPE 9 (hill), 1 at RPE 4
(downhill), etc. You'd just go through the video and compare the
power data.

2) Look at data from the ride and generate it. If you can email me
your file from WKO and your FTP, it can give me a good starting point

3) From GPS with elevation. This is useful if you don't have a
powermeter on the ride. This would be similar to converting a .crs
file to .erg (which is a feature request in GC). I can also generate
a Google Earth Tour, which is the poor man's Erg Video. I just need
feedback from people on conversion from slope to FTP % (I may go with
RPE instead).

There is also a workout wizard in GoldenCheetah that can be used to generate an erg file from a ride file. Its under tools->workout wizard.

Hey Mark,

It looks like it only creates .crs files and not .erg files. I've
been bouncing around ideas for converting .crs to .erg based off FTP
percentages. If anyone has feedback, that'd be great.

0% would be .85 of FTP
1-2 % would be .91
3-4 % would be .97
5-6 % would be 1.04
7-8% would be 1.1
9+ would be 1.2

downhill
1-2% would be .7
3-4% would be .6
5-6% would be .45
7% and more would be .3

For PowerAgent workouts, I'm changing downhill to target watts since
they do not let you have a negative slope. Feedback has been positive
so far.
