In Train mode, I am trying to use several devices:
  • Zwift smart trainer (Jetblack v1, I believe) using Bluetooth
    • Power resistance
    • Speed
    • Distance
  • Assioma dual pedals connecting via ANT+ in DUO mode for
    • Power reporting
    • Cadence
  • Wahoo Ticker using Bluetooth
When I set the devices up, I have to select Bluetooth and ANT+ as two different device groups, giving each a name.

When I go to start a workout, I am presented with a multi-device set of drop-down lists allowing me to select which of the two named groups (1 for ANT+ group and 1 for Bluetooth group) to use for Power, Speed, HR and Cadence.

Regardless of which group I select for each of the 4, they do not seem to "take" what
I select, but remain in the default drop-down order they were before my selection. This means that I will be constrained to the first item in the drop-down list, so either all ANT+ or all Bluetooth, but not a mix of both. So, I never can get all sensors active at once in a workout.

Also, it is not clear when I select a power device which is reporting to GC the applied power (should be pedals), and which is applying the resistance (should be trainer, obviously). I have not been able to have the trainer supply the resistance, and have had to fall back on just manual (my legs) power matching to the workout profile.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi, it is neither, but an unsupported combination.

Several people toyed with the idea to implement https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/issues/1789 which would be what you really want, and you can find discussions on the users forum too, but nobody contributed a an implementation it, or is working on that, AFAIK.
A workaround could be to connect the Smart Trainer and Ticker to GoldeCheetah and to use your Head Unit/Watch to record Assioma data as if you were on the road and then import and merge afterwards using Activity > Combine.
Cheers, Ale.

Thanks, Ale.

I'm thinking I'm over complicating it. I'll just use all ANT+ FEC since all my devices support ANT+. I have the Garmin dongle, I've used it in the past with a different trainer, just not this newer one.
