help! tech problem

Hi there GB filmmakers

 

Am a local - GB novice with a tech problem. Need advice.

 

Got AVI files on a disc, - downloaded from (original source)> Canon HD video camera.

(wow ..nice camera about $7000 worth ...but the owner/visitor has since left the Bay for parts unknown)

 

Need to edit these files/produce vid movie - using Windows Movie Maker on home PC.

 

Trouble is -  I find the files are all slow motion speed.

 

Windows movie maker has an effect to - 'double the speed' - But does this too much. Overkill.

 

Are there any tech options out there to convert these AVI files to normal speed?????????????

 

Can anyone help point me please?

Am I screwed?
