Hi,I'm new here-it looks like this is a new group.
Do you discuss gold prices/collecting gold/investing in preciuos
metals/ etc.? as well as the latest stories that influence the markets?
I have been buying and selling gold for about 4 years-mostly through
bullion dealers.I also invest in silver coins, bars and ingots.
I know a lot of people who may be interested in joining if the
activity level here would pick up.
Like some of you,I'm waiting for the big fiat collapse.

Hello,

Yes we set up this google group at the end of last year.

That is what we had in mind. We receive quite a lot of email in the
form of questions about how to buy gold, where to buy gold, what price
to pay above spot etc. So hopefully this google group will be a good
place for our visitors to ask those type of questions and more.

Please feel free to invite anyone you think might be interested in joining.

What is your prediction for when that might occur?

I participate in a couple of forums on the subject;there are only a few
that deal directly with purchasing and holding the actual metal itself.
I'm not any kind of financial genious, just an average person who has
concerns with the financial state of this country and I need to be sure
my family will be taken care of in the event of any shtf scenario.
The chances for a massive collapse are there;I really don't know
when, but because of the present situation with the economy and the
deficits,it seems inevitable.Possibly can be triggered by any outside
event brcause of the global nature of the banking and financial
systems.
I will spread the word about this group and see if we can drum up some
interest.I can post and link to articles here if you like;Stuff from
Kitco, the Bullion Desk,GoldEagle, etc.;these are some of the dites I
read regularly

Which forums are they? Perhaps we can link to them from the
goldprice.org directory. We are keen to promote the ownership of gold
itself.

Do you have 1/20 oz gold coins in your portfolio? I've been looking at
buying some of these recently as they may be more useful in a "shtf"
scenario.

Does anyone know what is a reasonable price one should expect to pay
above spot for 1/20 oz .999 gold coins?

I'm thinking this will occur within the next 3 years or less going by
the current down trend line in the US Dollar index.

I was on usenet for quite a while, one of the coin collecting sites.but
the troll situation became unbearable-if you were attacked, you couldn't
defend yourself without the internet nazis, who were actually
regulars, would jump all over you.Now they're engrossed in a lawsuit
because they posted all kinds of negative comments about a coin grading
company, who actually is suing the newsgroup over it.
(see 'acg lawsuit'-you can find a lot about it on google,I think.)

I participate a couple of other discussion groups-not on a regular
basis, but I do frequent the bullion direct forum and occasionally the
kitco one.I am by no means an expert, but like many others,I try to keep
up with them enough to stay informed of the subject.

The fiat collapse-theres a subject that has been getting a lot of press
lately.I heard recently that Mexico wants to re-monetize silver;the
only ones who are against it is thier federal reserve (theres a shock)
who want to maintain control over the money supply .
I don't know when the collapse-or adjustment- of the fiat situation
is coming.I know that the projection of the deficits and the increase
in interest rates will affect the economy here as well as the ripple
effect on the rest of the worlds economic situation. Now is a good time
to invest in China.I heard the Aussies are way ahead of everyone with
that.
