Hello,

I'm working towards creating a robust Go dev community in Bangalore.  From what I understand though, Go adoption is a little low or slow as of now over here.  Therefore, under the aegis of GDG Bangalore, I am starting a few beginner's workshops to get people started off and to increase the awareness for and adoption of the language.  The first of these free workshops is this weekend.  Details: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHRfLUJKR0JMMTNTcTJMWnRjWGg0Qmc6MQ.  If you would like some help starting off with Go, please do sign up.

If you already have some experience on Go, I would be very glad if you could join me in organizing a few of these events.  The demographic I typically want to target is at a Intermediate to Advanced programming level, but we will have to start at a Beginner level for the moment.  Do send me a mail and we can meet up to decide how we could structure this community and where we could take it.

Thank you and hope to see you soon.

cheers

Satish,
I was just looking up Golang User Groups in Bangalore and found this post. I have been working on Go for a while now. Is the user group still in the works?

Hey Adnaan,

That's great to know.  Are you working on it independently or within a company?  I would like to know more on how much use and uptake there is of go.  I'm definitely continuing the evangelism as much as I can.

For Bangalore related groups, another Google Groups was not in my plans as this go-nuts group is the best and fragmenting it did not make sense; neither did a separate group's ability to match the quality information here.  On the other hand, I do have this google+ community page at https://plus.google.com/communities/102083447604771785504.  Do join, let others know and post go stuff at will.

regards
Sathish

Hey,
I am working independently, while gradually open sourcing my work:https://github.com/adnaan/hamster/tree/experimental. I have also built couple of closed source api servers in Go. I didn't mean opening a new variant #go-nuts thread. Instead looking for a user group which meets up, exchange notes, talk about Go and maybe help in a wider adoption here in Bangalore.

I il join ujp the g+ page.

Cool.  We're on the same channel here then.
Let's e-catch up some time and see if we can organize a meetup soon.
