About Around We’re building a modern platform to transform how companies in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry operate and grow. We’re post-MVP and pre-revenue, now moving fast to onboard early users and shape the future of this industry.

The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Backend Developer to join our ambitious, early-stage startup as a foundational team member. If you’re excited by the idea of taking the lead on the ongoing development and strategy for our backend architecture, making high-level technical decisions, and getting in at the ground floor of something big — we want to talk.

Core Responsibilities

• Extend and improve our current codebase

• Make good backend architectural and code-level decisions

• Manage the deployment pipeline and AWS infrastructure

• Support product development with rapid iteration

• Collaborate with the rest of the team to ship real value to our users

Tech Stack

• Go (Golang) – primary backend language

GraphQL – API layer

• PostgreSQL & CockroachDB

• Liquibase – database migrations

• AWS – hosting and infrastructure

Key Qualifications

• Proven experience as a technical lead.

• Strong proficiency in GoLang.

• Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Compensation

We’re currently pre-revenue, so this role is equity-only for the time being. That said, we’re actively pursuing funding from multiple sources and are committed to starting salaries as soon as capital begins to flow. Joining now means stepping in as a true early team member with meaningful ownership — and growing with us as we transition into a funded and revenue-generating phase.
