Howdy Gophers,

Is there anyway of getting web access statistics from a pure golang server (built in a way as described in this article http://golang.org/doc/articles/wiki/)? e.g. number of unique visits, per day statistics, region statistics.  How would one go about building this feature in a golang webserver?

Note that there is no front-end apache server nor nginx server.

regards,

William

Add Google Analytics snippets to the site might be easiest.

You could add apache logging and then use those logs with any large number of log analysis tools. A quick googling turned this up: https://gist.github.com/cespare/3985516

To expand on this, https://github.com/gorilla/handlers offers some middleware that writes in the Apache log format.
