Cloud Functions Golang Support

Hi

When is Golang support for Cloud functions in GCP expected ? I am starting off a new project and would love to use GCP over AWS, but lambda already supports Golang. Is there an approximate ETA for Golang in Google Cloud functions ?

Any help on this ? I would love to choose GCE, but will have to go with AWS if there are no updates here. Thanks.
