The Internets say gopher = "ardilla de tierra" and mole = topo. Since topo is a nicer, shorter name, I suggest we use topo :-)

Hi all,

what would you like to see as Spanish language readers in this blog? More technical posts, introduction to some common packages, interviews to important Spanish-speakers gophers, news or description of new releases...? I don't feel like having just another Go blog with the difference of the language, actually I'd rather see how a new community grows up around a wide variety of topics, written by a wide variety of authors.

I think a blog is a fair entry point for a golanghispano.org community. Maybe in the future we can expand the scope towards more kind of channels and contents, like a forum, QA, social networks accounts and so on. Let it be and we'll see.

Francesc, would be really nice to read some lines about your trip to Spain gopherizing people in Madrid and Barcelona meetups (am I missing another location?), regarding the output, reactions, feedback... Just saying :)

With regards to topics for the blog, I think it would be a good idea to focus on 'getting started'  type of posts. More generally, I believe it would be great If we could coordinate efforts to translate bits and peaces of Go's documentation, for example this one http://golang.org/doc/code.html

I believe that someone who does not speak even a little English is going to have a hard time learning or adopting any new(ish) technology. However, many programmers may get over the hump more easily if there's at least some basic documentation and examples in Spanish.

I've been thinking about writing about my experiences developing a pair of  Go/Ember applications I'm working on. While not terribly exciting, it could be of interest to some. 

What do you think?

Sounds very reasonable.  Along the same line of though, the Go Tour would be a good candidate for translation as it is one of the primary ways newcomers are exposed to Go.

Translating (or better, adapting) http://golang.org/doc/code.html sounds like a nice idea, I will start working on it asap.
That post about Go and Ember would be great, perhaps at some point of time after the first introductory entries.

I also thought about writing a weekly post about the best of the week: best links of the week, updated packages or apps, gopher of the week and so on, how do you like it?

I suggest introducing a linguistical style guide for future Go related articles in spanish.

Please avoid using the 2nd plural grammatical person "vosotros" in favor of "ustedes". The former is only used in spain - which represents a minority.

Also please only use past perfect for events in the far past for the same reason. Use imperfect for recent events.

Accidentally, I named a soon-to-be project of mine as Turzas (from tursas, which is Finnish for octopus, and Zas, my own static site generator). Funny resemblance!
