Standard way of checking the required format (or file extension)

In the new routing code, you can get extensions from the PathParams,
does this mean we should remove it as a variable from the Context? If
so, we could always add a helpful Format() func.
Thoughts?

Yeah my thoughts exactly ... in fact if you take a look at the [totally backwards incompatible] exp-params branch, you'll can start to see what my thoughts are here. I'm a bit busy at the mo, but I'll do a proper writeup of my ideas here hopefully this evening.
