I was noticing the docker hub containers haven't had a release since
1.16.7b7 and was wondering, is this an oversight or are containers now
being hosted elsewhere?

The images are now being published at us-docker.pkg.dev/google.com/api-project-999119582588/go-boringcrypto/golang.

Are there docs we should update?

That page currently references https://go.googlesource.com/go/+/dev.boringcrypto/README.boringcrypto.md which might also benefit from links or content about how to get it.

this link shows error, does it require some groups/permission to view the builds?

docker pull us-docker.pkg.dev/google.com/api-project-999119582588/go-boringcrypto/golang:1.17.5b7

works without authentication for me.

It's been a bit since this thread and it doesn't seem the above image works anymore. Is goboring still being maintained and releases made? If so, is there any way to track what's available?

Hi Scott,

Go+BoringCrypto is something we put together for internal Google use and is unsupported otherwise. With that caveat, anyone can use Go+BoringCrypto by setting GOEXPERIMENT=boringcrypto during builds using standard Go toolchains now. There is no separate toolchain anymore.
