Hi,
My team is porting golang on AIX now. 64bit only, Power>=8, and AIX 7.2 first.
Bootstrap is done and we are fixing the tests failures.
We are also working in parallel on the port of golang.org/x on AIX.
And I've started to submit patches dealing with simple basic changes and with AIX/PPC64-only changes.
I've found the page: https://github.com/golang/go/wiki/PortingPolicy this morning and I'm studying what we have to do in order to obey to its rules.
Any suggestion/recommendation is welcome.
Regards,
Tony

Will you be the main point of contact responsible for fixing breakages?

Who will run the builder and where will it live?

We're currently in a freeze for Go 1.11 but the tree will open in August (https://github.com/golang/go/wiki/Go-Release-Cycle) for Go 1.12.

Hi Brad,

I'll be the main point of contact responsible for fixing breakages.

The builder machine will be located at OSUOSL.  https://osuosl.org/services/powerdev/ .
A new AIX/Power machine is planned to be made available by IBM to my team in August.

Cordialement,

Tony Reix
