Dear Golang Dev members,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring your attention to the gomock project, a widely used mocking library in our community. It appears that the project has become less active recently, and I wanted to reach out to the Golang Dev mailing list in the hope that some Google members might see this message and advocate for additional resources dedicated to the project.

One of the pressing issues for gomock is the lack of support for generics, even though we've had two major Go releases since the introduction of this feature. As the adoption of generics continues to grow rapidly, it's becoming increasingly important for gomock to stay up-to-date and maintain its competitive edge in the ecosystem.

I would like to highlight that there is an open pull request from a community member addressing the generics support (#669). Unfortunately, the review process seems to have stalled, with one of the current maintainers, Cody Oss, having stopped reviewing it months ago.

I understand that implementing generics support might be a non-trivial task, but I believe it would significantly benefit both the gomock project and the larger Go community. Google's support would be instrumental in revitalizing the project and ensuring its continued success. By dedicating more resources to gomock, Google could help not only with the generics implementation but also with overall project maintenance and addressing other outstanding issues.

In particular, it would be invaluable if Google could assign additional maintainers to assist with the review process, especially for critical features such as generics support. This would undoubtedly have a positive impact on the user experience for gomock and contribute to the growth and stability of the Go ecosystem.

I hope that this message reaches some Google members who can champion this cause and help gomock regain its momentum. Thank you for your time and consideration, and please let me know if there's any way I can contribute or support this effort.

Best regards
