"Across the night I saw your face
You disappeared without a trace
You brought me here, but can you take me back?
Inside the image of your light
That now is day and once was night
You lead me here and then you go away."

Harken Lucas had miraculously recovered from his mortal injury, aided
by a mysterious benefactor who reclaimed the No-Moon's armour as a
payment.

Rejoining his packmates excavating the fortress ruins, he was asked to
assist Vermy, Jasmine and Angel Hawke in attempting to shut down the
Wyld reactor.

The fortress' control amulet broken with no means of repairing it,
Lucas and Angel figured that if they couldlocate the ghost of the
slain Solar Inara, they might be able obtain a duplicate.

Using the small Shadowland created by Inara's murder, the four Lunars
cross over to the Underworld.

They encounter a refugee caravan of ghosts and Jasmine was reunited
with the ghost of her sisters, Anice and Brandy.

Anice explained that they and other ghosts were travelling to Inara's
camp to seek protection from the Deathlords.

The Lunars were suspicious of ghost Inara's intentions to "protect"
other ghosts but they agreed to meet her peacefully.

The ex-Solar was at first resentful of the Pack's presence but the
latter eventually realised that Inara was no longer the mad Twilight
caste they once knew.

Freed from the influence of the Great Curse, Inara explained that she
felt that death was no excuse to stop protecting Creation.

She aimed to safeguard the ghosts in her camp by building a jade
behemoth warstrider known as the Twin Archangels.

But the war machine was nowhere near completion when an army belonging
to the Deathlord known of Prioress of Bloody Sands approached the
camp.

The Lunars agreed to defend the camp from the in exchange for the
copy of the control amulet that Inara carried.

The raiders, lead by the Abyssal called Red Famine, consisted of a
(strangely familiar) armoured undead giant space crab and a large
force of war ghosts.

Lucas' application of the Magma Kraken spell saw off the war ghosts
but the crab and its commander lumbered onwards.

Multiple assaults by Angel Hawke, Jasmine and Vermy brought Red Famine
and his bodyguard into melee.

THe Deathknight, a Dusk caste Abyssal made his presence felt with
masterful swordsmanship. The Pack risked unlife and limb(s) to defeat
him.

Angel Hawke is now known as One-Winged Angel. A final (and very
permanent) blow was delivered to Red Famine by way of Vermy's hammer.

Giant armoured undead space crab too succumbed to many blows from
Luna's Chosen and their summoned demons.

Pack would spend the next couple days recovering at Inara's camp and
learning how to make (limited) use of the control amulet...

"Lucas' application of the Magma Kraken spell saw off the war ghosts

I am sure this can count as the most understated use of Magma Kraken
evar.

Sure beats rolling damage against several dozen Extras.

I admit it, I suck at this game =O

You don't suck...

That was the Solar's ...they're always sucking things....souls, jade, integrity......

DWL

p.s. It doesn't stop being magic just because you knows how it's done.

Achievement!

"Group First! Magma Kraken" -- Finally casted Magma Kraken after
(Other people)spending years talking about it.

"This situation calls for stealth and subtlety..." -- Use Magma Kraken
in an utterly inappropriate situation.

Maybe the awesomeness of Magma Kraken has been overhyped. Anyway. we didn't have the spell description during that session so didn't have the specific dmg/range/etc

Magma Kraken is great for killing armies full of mortals and other
sorts of extras. Against Exalts or more powerful essence users? Not so
much.

Regardless, I am not gonna make rolls for each individual hit; hits
which are pretty much a one-shot.

Magma Kraken involves bringing out the grapple rules for people it
couldn't pwn straight off. So, it's better that we don't go into that
detail anyway...

Also, if your target can fly, it kind of sucks.

But someone did (got into the detail with the grapple rules that is)
Let us not name names o.o
