100K ? are you serious? You sir are a seriously crazy man!! :-). Good luck to you buddy. I am planning to break 4h in Marathon this year. May be next year do something more fun like you are doing. Two Triathlons(Olympic and a half Ironman) and a half marathon(rutgers) and a full(Phili). Last year triathlon training fell apart due to sickness and job change etc...so kind of crawling back into it. 

100K...f&%$..ing sh%$#@...send me a postcard..I would have to start running now to finish by 25th :-)

If you do it I definitely might potentially kind of consider one for next year...

I'm impressed and jealous.  I did a 50K this year, and it was draining and tough, but what an amazing experience.  Best of luck with the 100K.

I'm thinking of doing a smaller triathlon this year with Joelle (not sure if she's completely aware of the fact that we'll be doing it yet).  I'm hoping that maybe next year I can do a half ironman or full if I can plan my schedule around it.  I'm also looking forward to more Ultramarathons, but it will be sometime before I'm up to a 100k challenge.

Hey Rich..if you are planning to to try out a Tri this year , the NJ state Triathlon literally happens in my backyard around July end. Check it out and sign up...I will be doing the olympic distance. You can choose that or sprint version. You guys can stay over at our place and we can go together on race day morning...It is about 10 minute drive from my house at Mercer county park. They are also having a half Ironman there this year there for the first time...in Sep end. Jafar??..., anyone else?? This could be a cool party...

You mentioned that you are involved in a special orphanage in India. Do they take brand new (unused) toys for donation? 

If the short answer is 'yes', then can you pls provide some guidelines as to what would be appropriate, as far as the type and quantity. 

Any guidance on logistics would also be very much appreciated. 

P.S. Our boys' birthdays are approaching, we would use this as an optty to raise some awareness and goodwill.

Hey Guys,

Anyone interested in climbing Mt Shasta in summer. It is easier than Rainier and has few or no crevasses. It still ll quite challenging, almost same hheight as rainier, crampons climb for the last 5000 ft and can be done with our without guides. We just have to choose the right time, equipment etc..perhaps an experienced climber to come along and we are good to go....we get to tent up on the mountain in the snow...

Considering middle to late may. Lets do Shasta as the big climb of the year. (even though is is 14K ft it is a one day climb if you want to torture yourself or two days if you want to have fun. I am inclined towards a two day climb with lots of planning and without any guides. it works out to be a 3 day door to door, appox $1000 trip considering about 500 dollar flight tickets, some equipment, food, hotel etc. 

Please share your interest. 

and perhaps Mt. Katahdin in Maine or as a fun climb that almost everyone could consider(as against Mt Washington which we all have done)....
