Dear all,

First, thanks for your prompt response regarding our next venture. 

I corresponded with Prof Useem regarding a leadership trek at the Himalayas for 2016. I learned that there will not be a trek at Himalayas next year, however he was gracious enough to offer to plan a custom trip for us similar to the one which Aysu and I attended last July in Italian alps. 

We attended to the Dolomites trip with professor Mike Useem and professor Ed Bernbaum last year and it was nothing short of spectacular! For those who do not know professor Useem, feel free to yahoo him :p

In short, It is a privilege to receive an invitation of this sort from him. Usually, going to an event with prof Useem is reserved for Wharton students and special programs he runs. Having been to a climbing with with him before, Aysu and I are very flabbergasted that we will be able to do it again.  

I am forwarding you the itinerary for the last year's venture. Probably we will have a lot of liberty in influencing the agenda, location, and rigor level. It can range from hiking at French or Swiss alps to summiting Mont Blanc or Matterhorn. 

The trip will likely be in July of next year and will cost somewhere around 6,000 usd. We will need to commit rather early (financially and otherwise) to make sure we get the best out of the experience.  

I need you respond to this email and let me know if you want to be part of this trip. We will have to start planning by the end of this month, so you have time to decide. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you want to know more about it or want to take an active role in the design of the trip. 

Needless to say, we would like to keep the trip very similar to the one we did in mt. Kilimanjaro (both in roster and in content) however we will potentially open it up to a broader group if we don't get to hear from enough many of you by the end of July.

Serhan - The Dolomites trip looks awesome.  Enrichment of both Body and Mind.  Count me in for any "trekking or hiking".  Only reservation I have is for Technical Climb as I am not sure I can prepare for it in Dallas.

So anything where I need to walk,hike, trek, scramble, crawl without any additional gear  - I am in :)

Dear Serhan,

Sorry for my late response as I have been crazy busy at work, thanks to restructuring and, at home with a 5 month old. I am either holding a notebook computer or a baby in my lap all my waking hours....:-). You know the drill!

I managed to read the detail itinerary today and got very excited about climbing Italian Dolomites. My excitement level increased when I got to know that I won't have to carry a big backpack (I have a bad back as you know). 

For those who are worried about carrying a heavy load on back, please read the following...

"The week involves no technical mountaineering, and it does not use ropes, crampons, or other climbing equipment. A support vehicle transports the group’s luggage, so you only need to carry a daypack for items you need for the day (e.g., rain parka, sweater, camera, and water bottle)."

I am in. I also talked to Bala the other day and he said he is in. Please let me know the next steps.
