Here's a new contract position in NJ. Financial experience is key on this one.
Position: J2EE Developer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Length: 12 Months
Our client is looking for a Sr. Java Developer to do the following:
* Architecture/design. The person will need to have a deep technical understanding, having spent a significant portion of their career in a coding role.
* Analysis. The person will work with senior managers to help define their business practices and suggest solutions that improve efficiency.
* Initiative/Ownership. The person must be self-motivated, moving the project forward against any obstacles along the way.
* Communication. The person will need to influence and motivate people of various interests and seniority levels. He/she needs to show past experience in utilizing various influence skills.
* This person should be familiar with developer best practices, but also be flexible to adapt to the team's established best practices and environment.
* Team leadership. The person should have some leadership experience, focused on project delivery.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
The candidate should also meet these additional requirements:
* Business analysis skills in solving complex problems
* Strong technical skills in the following areas required:
* Java: JSPs, Servlets
* Database: SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers
* Frameworks; Spring, Hibernate
* Additional skills in the following areas preferred:
* Java: JDBC, JMS, JAXB, Junit, Struts, Tiles
* Database: IBM DB2 UDB, Sybase ASE, MS SQL Server; ER
* Diagrams: ERStudio/ERWin
* XML: Schemas/DTD, DOM XSL, XSLT,
* Messaging: Point-to-Point, Pub/Sub
* J2EE: Tomcat, JBoss, EJBs, Weblogic,
* Misc: Ant, CVS, Solaris Unix, Shell script, Perl
* Strong inter-personal and communication skills; making presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers, and working independently on problem solving
* Exposure to project management in an enterprise application development environment
*Technical Skills - Demonstrates strong technical skills required for the role, pays attention to detail, takes initiative to broaden his/her knowledge and demonstrates appropriate financial/analytical skills
*Drive and Motivation - Successfully handles multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve his/her own performance, works intensely towards extremely challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacks
*Teamwork - Gives evidence of being a strong team player, collaborates with others within and across teams, encourages other team members to participate and contribute and acknowledges others' contributions
*Communication Skills - Communicates what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner and shares information/new ideas with others
