Duration:  1 Year Contract

Location: Hartford, CT.

 

RFQ Notes : Data Warehouse Project Delivery Tech Lead JVS JOB TITLE - Senior Application Technical Specialist (654066)JOB RESPONSIBILITIES* Prepare estimates for project work.* Work with development managers and resource managers to secure appropriate staffing for projects.* Directs Development Life Cycle. * Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff on delivery status and issues during all phases of the project development cycle. * Maintains cross-functional project plans for each project.* Manages the Delivery team to the project plan.* Represents the Delivery team at all leadership meetings.* Identifies and communicates issues appropriately.* Ensures that projects are appropriately staffed with appropriate skill sets.* Oversees the technical direction of design and development to ensure alignment with architecture, business requirements, and industry best practices.* Ensures that all deliverables assigned to team members are completed according to planned dates, and with quality.* Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization.* Ensures analysis and system design in support of multi-business systems integration.* Provides technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies, which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives.* Acts as technical resource to lead Delivery staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.* At request of manager, may provide input to hiring, compensation, and performance decisions.* Enforces the utilization of accepted methodology and tools in a disciplined manner, which may include execution of key technical reviews at project gates/milestones.

 

SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * A minimum of 7 years experience providing hands-on leadership for complex ETL delivery initiatives for data warehouses and related applications using industry standard toolsets.* Prior experience with all phases of system delivery and implementation.* Working knowledge of Industry Systems/Software Engineering processes and techniques.* Prior experience in a development environment that includes some of the following tools and technologies: DB2/UDB version 9.5, AIX, IBM DataStage version 7.5, ZEKE scheduler, Clearcase, Clearquest, SQL, DB2 Stored Procedures. Exposure to other toolsets used to deliver ETL solutions is a plus (Informatica, Abinitio, SAS, Oracle, Teradata, etc.)* A minimum of 5 years experience working within structured project methodologies.* Experience with Healthcare payer business.* Extensive knowledge of the system development life cycle, the client area's functions and systems, and application program development alternatives.* Technical leadership skills.* Excellent communication skills.* Analytical ability.* Ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff
