Greetings from E-FOREA!

 

Engineers’ Forum for Entrepreneurship Awareness (E-FOREA) is the e-cell of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal (www.nitk.ac.in).

 

E-FOREA is organizing its’ annual inter–collegiate entrepreneurship festival IGNITION ’11 from February 3rd-6th. This year IGNITION ’11 is being held in partnership with NEN(National Entrepreneurship Network),NSEF(National Social Entrepreneurship Forum) and VILLGRO.NEN represents India’s largest and most dynamic community of new and future high-growth entrepreneurs, with over 70,000 members in 30 cities. In addition, it runs Entrepreneurship Week India, the country’s largest entrepreneurship-awareness campaign having participation from over 350,000 students. In 2009, E Week India featured over 3500 events with more than 350,000 participants. 


WORKSHOP BY NEN ON 'IDEATION TO ENTERPRISE'


One of the flagship events during IGNITION 2011 is a comprehensive workshop that covers various aspects involved in ensuring the successful transformation of idea into an enterprising start-up. 


The workshop will cover aspects of:

  • Elementary Bplan Making 
  • Incubation, Mentorship and Funding opportunities available 
  • The intricacies involved in pitching an idea to VCs, angel investors etc.
  • Team building and motivational games
All participants would receive certificates from NEN

Profile Description of the Resource Person

Dr. Rajeev Roy

Dr. Rajeev Roy teaches entrepreneurship and has over nine years of industry and entrepreneurial experience before joining XIMB. His entrepreneurial ventures included food processing, dairy, aquaculture, microfinance and business process outsourcing. He conducts training programmes on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is also a visiting faculty at Sellinger Business School at Baltimore, USA and a recipient of the Romesh Wadhwani Fellowship for teaching entrepreneurship.His current research interests are centered on entrepreneurship and small business. He has published several research papers and case studies pertaining to these topics. He has also written a book titled Entrepreneurship which was published by Oxford University Press which is a best seller.
