Hi,

A few of us from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK) are taking part in the Dell social innovation challenge. The competition is about a viable idea which can bring about a significant change for the better in the lives of a significant number of people. The link for the details of our idea is provided at the end of the mail. If you think it’s an idea worth implementing, vote for us. Also, as a reference we have provided a brief description of our idea.

One of the most burning issues of concern is the state of rural artisans of India. There are a large number of indigenous art forms in India which have been pursued by certain sections of society over generations. However, the conditions which this people live in are pitiable. They have no access to higher education, new- age equipment, support from government or other organizations and platforms to showcase their talent.

Live Through art is a platform which helps artisans find patrons to their art. We are a non-profit organization which is going to develop an auction platform where artisans can upload their art pieces and have people who actually appreciate art bid for it. We hope this idea helps in the poverty alleviation of artisans all over India.
