Will Gogtasks work with Outlook Closed ?

First off, Kudos to the developers for the great work.
I think this is a fabulous piece of software. I've been looking for this functionality for long !!
It has all the setup options one needs.

Now to my question, I have setup Gogtasks to Sync Automatically every 1 hour.
Will this work even if I shutdown Outlook (version 2013) ??

If not, I assume the solution is to use the "Synchronize on startup/resume", right ?

No, the software only runs when Outlook runs, so you assume correctly.
