Are there any getting started docs that don't assume a mastery of protobufs?

Where are you struggling?

On github.com/gogo/protobuf there is a link to gogo.github.io

At the bottom of gogo.github.io there is a link to more documentation -> http://gogo.github.io/doc/
I should move this to some place more clear.

There it links to the readme where is says that you need to install protoc and gogoprotobuf.
I probably need to rewrite some of the readme

Then back on the page it links to an example.proto and its Makefile.
That should get you started.

Or am I missing something?
