No, that is not a tabloid headline at the grocery store, and it was not the rain making it grow. The City of San Luis Obispo acquired the Froom Ranch that is just to the southeast of Irish Hills, adding it to the Irish Hills, more than doubling the size of the Open Space!
Now, let's build some new trails on the other side of Froom Creek, and get closer to completing the link to Johnson Ranch!
When:
THIS Saturday, November 12th, 2011, 8 am – 2 pm
Where:
Meet at Laguna Lake Park, off Madonna Road in SLO for breakfast.
Details:
We'll be building the first Froom Ranch
access trail on the newly acquired property. This trail will provide
access to other existing and to-be-created trails in the Open Space.
This is a TrailWerks so you will receive breakfast, swag, trail snacks.
After working we go back to Laguna Lake Park for lunch and a big raffle
with at least a couple of dozen items worth a minimum of $25 each.
Bring long pants, long sleeves, sturdy boots, gloves. All tools and guidance provided.
Note, we do trail work rain or shine. The forecast suggests you should bring your rain gear!
