Whether or not you expect to ever use the "skills area"
please attend. More and varied riding
opportunities benefits ALL trail users in many ways, just two of which are:
More trails means less
crowded trails.
Sustainable freeriding
opportunities are good for the
environment.
WE
NEED YOUR BODY AT THE SLO CITY COUNCIL MEETING.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 17th (at approximately 6:00 p.m.
we'll try to pinpoint the time as it closes in)
Council meetings are
held in the City Building across Palm from the City-County
Library.
You don't need to say anything. We just need to put
together a LARGE crowd to fill the seats in the Council
Chambers.
The SLO City Council is making the final decision as to whether or
not to allow the creation of a FASTA project in the Eucs. below
Shooters. Last September the Council OKed the project in
principle. This time around they are being asked to accept the
management plan which we submitted. As strange as it seems they
could vote to not accept the management plan and in effect reverse their
previous positive vote. A year ago it was approved by a 3-2 vote. We
are so close to this becoming a reality and 3-2 votes are so fragile that we
need to show up in force again to make sure that the council members are
FACED WITH VOTES IN THE AUDIENCE.
Whether or not you
expect to ever use the "skills area" please attend. CCCMB supports the
FASTA project because it will provide a type of riding opportunity that doesn't
currently exist in our area AND because it allows us to provide this opportunity
in a sustainable and legal way.
Hope to see you
there.
