Priority chemicals

Priority chemicals impact on human health, marine biodiversity and may be responsible for climate change. Chemicals, including PCB`s, PBDE fire retardants, organo-tin and mercury compounds from industrial waste, consumer electronics and other sources, are impacting on the primary productivity of our oceans. The chemicals are very toxic and unless they can be reduced the oceans will experience a cascade destabilization over the next 25 years given by the rate of change of pH.
